The Road To Success
Setcon Medical was formally established in 2010 in Beijing, the capital of China. It was originally an ordinary trading company focusing on the import and export of medical devices, and accumulated valuable experience and resources for entering the medical device industry.
In 2013, Setcon Medical invested in and established its first electric wheelchair production plant in Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province, marking the company's transformation from a trading company to a manufacturing company. It is committed to the research and development of wheelchair products and has taken an important step towards building its own brand.
In 2015, the company established a manual wheelchair factory in Tianjin. This move further enriched its product portfolio, meeting diverse market demands and offering more choices to global customers.
In 2018, to further boost production capacity and efficiency, Satcon Medical set up a second manual wheelchair factory in Foshan, Guangdong Province. This factory not only increased the company's production capabilities but also laid a solid foundation for expanding into international markets.
In 2020, Satcon Medical integrated several core wheelchair component suppliers through equity participation or controlling stakes. This strategic move significantly optimized the company's supply chain management, enhanced production stability, and improved quality control, giving it a competitive edge in the international market.
In 2021, Satcon Medical won a bid from the UAE Ministry of Health to supply 8,000 manual wheelchairs. This marked the company's first large-scale entry into the Middle East market and further solidified its position in the international arena.
In 2022, Satcon Medical secured a wheelchair procurement project from an African non-profit organization, supplying 20,000 wheelchairs. This initiative significantly contributed to the global cause of accessible mobility for people with disabilities and demonstrated the company's commitment to social responsibility.
In 2023, Satcon Medical signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan to supply 10,000 electric wheelchairs. This collaboration expanded the company's business footprint in Central Asia and highlighted the international recognition of its electric wheelchair products.
In 2024, Satcon Medical partnered with Better Medical, the largest pharmacy chain in Thailand, to comprehensively explore the Southeast Asian market. This strategic alliance marked a new milestone in the company's international development and provided broader prospects for its future global strategy.
